OLD STORIES

During the last days of the school year, students of 1º A and 1º B have come back to their childhood by reading traditional stories and writing new versions of them with new texts and illustrations. Here are some of their works:

HALLOWEEN COMPETITION

The English Department organized a pumpkin decorating competition to celebrate Halloween.
Many pupils brought their decorated pumpkins, that were on display at the hall of the institute.
There were three prizes for the best decorated pumpkins.
Entries were judged according to their originality and quality of the work in light of participant´s age.

The winners and prizes were:
Borja (Class 1st C)
Anaïs (Class 2nd B)
Estefanía (Class 2nd B)

The winners received a present check to be spent at Marbella Fnac and a free lunch at the canteen. Besides, all the participants received a school folder.

Congratulations to all of them!!

LAS RAMBLAS BY SAMARA (2º ESO A)

ENGLISH
Rambla street is undoubtedly the most cosmopolitan of Barcelona, with the greatest diversity of people, passers-by, shoppers, tourists, civil servants, big shots, comedians, street musicians, night-birds, vagrants, prostitutes... The Rambla was originally just a torrent (Rambla comes from the Arabic "ramla", torrent). The plane trees, the most common species of tree in the city (introduced in 1859) stand out in this street. The historical evolution of this street has divided it into five sections, the Ramblas de Canaletes, dels Estudis, de Sant Josep, dels Caputxins and de Santa Mónica.

CATALÁ
Sens dubte, és el carrer més cosmopolita de la ciutat comtal. Aquí es concentra la major varietat de gent: passants, compradors, turistes, còmics, músics rodaires, noctàmbuls, vagabunds, prostitutes... En els seus orígens, la Rambla, no era res més que un torrent; el seu nom prové del terme àrab ramla (torrent). Destaquen també els seus plataners, espècie arbòria molt extensa a la ciutat que va ser introduïda l'any 1859. Al llarg del temps, el carrer s' ha vist dividit en cinc trams: Rambla de Canaletas, dels Estudis, de Sant Josep, dels Caputxins i de Santa Mónica.

Last month our institute went on excursion to Malaga to see Avatar. We liked the film a lot and we have made some comics about it in class.
